Mural today is a little gallery that lives on your Mac.
The plan: turn it into a wall we all paint together —
a community place where anyone can publish their wallpapers.
A native home
Shipped · v1.0
The app as it is today — and the foundation everything else builds on.
A hand-picked gallery of stills, plus procedural wallpapers.
Mural Studio — drawn backdrops, palettes, scrapbook stickers.
Video wallpapers on the Desktop & Lock Screen (macOS 26).
The Mural server
In the works
A small, quiet home on the internet for wallpapers. The app checks in,
and fresh walls simply appear in the box — no account needed to browse.
A public wallpaper feed the app can pull from.
New curated drops without waiting for an app update.
Community wallpapers
The goal
The whole point of the journey: anyone can publish. Sketch something
lovely in Mural Studio, hit share, and it hangs on the community wall for
everyone to take home.
Upload straight from Mural Studio or your own files.
Human-reviewed submissions, so the gallery stays hand-picked — never a dumping ground.
Credit where it's due: every wall carries its maker's name.
Wherever you take it
Someday
Themed packs, seasonal drops, collab collections — once the community wall
exists, the community decides what hangs on it.
Have an opinion about where Mural should go? The roadmap is a sketch,
not a contract — come argue about it.
